Connie Terry

October 5, 1934 — February 5, 2021

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully.  Connie was the eldest of 5 children born to Ferrell and Edna Wood, in Garland, Utah.  She graduated from Bear River High School.   Connie met the love of her life while attending BYU, Boyd Terry who happened to be their milkman.  They were married and sealed to each other August 5, 1955 in the Logan Temple.
Connie lived a full life and held many leadership positions in Relief Society, Young Women’s, Sunday School and Primary at both the Stake and Ward Level.   Mom and dad served a LDS mission at the Cove Fort Historical Site living 6 months in their RV trailer and another year in an apartment at the Fort.
Connie worked at Hatchco as a secretary for many years.  After working for Hatchco, mom worked a few years in the Membership and Missionary departments for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She enjoyed spending many hours working on Genealogy with her mother, continuing with this work for her family including Books of Remembrances for each of her children.  Connie was an excellent seamstress.  She enjoyed making dresses, clothes, quilts, and barbie clothes sewing late at night as gifts for her children.  She remained an avid BYU fan holding season football tickets for many years.
Family was always her number one priority.   She always had a way to keep things in control, it only took a look.  She loved Christmas, visiting family in Arizona and Utah, attended sporting events, graduations, weddings, camping, and loved to travel.  Mom and dad made it a priority to have a yearly family vacation creating many memories to places including Logan Canyon, Yellowstone, Flaming Gorge and many trips to California.   She loved spending time at their cabin with her family.  Many memories were made playing spoons and other games, fishing and keeping the weeds under control.  Connie’s grandchildren remember receiving yearly cards for birthdays, little gifts for Valentine’s Day, Halloween and all occasions.
Connie was also active in civic duties including volunteering at the election polls and writing letters to her local representatives.  She was also the first to volunteer for PTA and her children’s school activities.
Connie loved music, she loved to sing and was an accomplished piano player.
Mom is at peace and enjoying her heavenly reunion with her parents, brothers and other family members.  Connie is survived by her husband Boyd Terry and children:  Pamela (David) Scott, Sue (Lee) Follett, Jolene (Mike) Phinney, Jeffrey (Jill) Terry, and Lisa (Larry) Lasky, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her brother Roy Wood and two sisters, Mary Mason and Linda Boman and their spouses.
Many thanks to Avalon Care Center and Lakeview Hospital for their loving care during her illness the past two months.
