Connie Reed Durfey passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2024.
Connie was born July 5, 1939, to Hope and Reed Hamilton in Roosevelt, Utah. She married Donald J. Durfey on July 27, 1957. They were later sealed in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 67 years. Together they raised three children: Corrina, Linda, and Matthew.
Connie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings including Relief Society President, Primary President, Primary Chorister, Choir Chorister, and Gospel Doctrine Instructor.
She loved to sing and was in a group called the Schubert Singers. She also had a passion for painting, and some of her paintings are hanging in her home.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Connie enjoyed serving others. Many were blessed to receive her healing chicken noodle soup.
She enjoyed canning fruit and vegetables from her garden and peach and pear trees.
She was loved by all who knew her and will truly be missed.
Connie is survived by her husband, Donald, daughter Linda (Steve), son-in-law Gene, brother Bill, nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Corrina, and son Matthew, and siblings Junior, Lulu, Chloe, Marva, and Faun.
Services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Kearns 10th Ward Building: 5025 W 4865 S, Kearns, Utah 84118. There will be a viewing an hour before the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
