Colene Jones Thompson

August 11, 1939 — October 1, 2024

Colene Jones Thompson, 85, of West Valley City Utah, returned to our Heavenly Father on October 01, 2024.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 11th, 1939 to Oscar Cecile Jones and Zentha Wood Jones. Colene had a bubbly personality and made friends everywhere she went. She had a love for music and played the accordion and the piano. She enjoyed playing tennis, traveling and sunbathing. Colene was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, devoting her time and energy to genealogy work. During her working career she was a data entry operator at Associated Foods.

She married Franklin Samual Kidd on August 30th 1957 then later sealed In the Salt Lake City Temple. She then married the love of her life Clair M. Thompson on May 15th 1971 in Elko, Nevada. Clair comforted her everyday through her illness. They had Four children Vickie Thompson, Julie Thompson, Tracy Kidd, and Sherrie Bosen(Mark).

Though she loved reading, genealogy, and temple work, Colene’s favourite role was that of a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved being their grandmother, never failing to give the best hugs.

She had seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Colene will always be remembered for her wonderful light that shined very bright. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss Colene every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by Oscar (Father) Zentha (Mother) Kenneth and Ron (Brothers) Kevin (grandson)
