Cody Shawn Wilson

September 24, 1996 — May 8, 2018

Cody Wilson, 21, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2018, at his home in South Jordan. Cody grew up in Kearns and West Jordan and always lived hard and fast, always keeping the pedal to the metal and enjoying the ride. He was born a wise soul with a loving, caring, supportive nature. He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone, at any time, and did everything he could to ease other’s pain above his own.
Cody was a music fanatic that loved going to concerts, playing video games, watching funny videos, running around wreaking havoc with friends, hanging out with his mom listening to music and laughing, debating with and talking to his older brother Casey, and spending countless hours goofing around and laughing hysterically with his little brother (and best friend) Tyler.
His easy smile and contagious laugh could light up a room and always drew people toward his light. His huge heart, wise and giving spirit, endless loyalty, charm, wit, honesty, sarcasm, hilarious nature, hell raiser attitude, and smartass ways made us all want to stay near him. We are so proud of him, the person that he was, and the way that he always stayed true to himself in everything he did. Cody was a hard-worker. Nothing kept him down for too long before he would stand up and fight. He rose above every difficult challenge that he ever faced. He had already experienced so much loss in his young life that he treasured every moment with the people that he cared about.
Our lives are forever changed, but he will always be with us, forever in our hearts and in our thoughts. We will never forget the everlasting impact he had on everyone that was lucky enough to know him and love him. He was the kind of guy that made you want to be a better version of yourself. Rest easy in peace and love Cody.
Cody will be lovingly remembered by his adoring mother, Tami Wilson; father, Shawn Wilson; loving brothers, Casey Bloodworth and Tyler Wilson; grandmother, Jeniel Benge; grandfather, Eugene (Bud) Lee; many caring uncles, aunts, cousins, and amazing friends. He was preceded in death, and welcomed back home, by his sweet grandmother, Zola Clark Lee; fun-loving uncle, Larry Benge; and several close friends that all left this world too soon.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1 PM, with a viewing two hours prior to the service at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 10055 S State Street, Sandy, UT 84070.
Cody wasn’t a formal guy so we are encouraging all to come as you are and dress comfortably and casually like he would want you to. T-shirts and jeans are more than welcome.
