Clyde Raymond Baldwin

April 8, 1940 — March 26, 2021

Clyde Raymond Baldwin, “Ray,” 80 of Provo, Utah died on March 26, 2021 from Alzheimer’s
Disease. Ray was born on April 8, 1940 in Snowflake, Arizona to Perry Alvin and Jessie Shumway
Baldwin.
Ray grew up in Taylor, Arizona where he graduated from Snowflake Union High School in 1958.
He served an LDS mission in the Western Canada Mission from 1960 to 1962 and loved the
people he met there. After his mission, Ray graduated from Brigham Young University with a
degree in Industrial Psychology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He met and
married Jeanette Prina at BYU in 1964.
Ray followed a career path in finance, management and was a life-long entrepreneur. After
graduation from BYU, Ray and Jeanie moved to Detroit, Michigan to work for Ford Motor
Company. His career took him to Salt Lake City, Utah and Idaho Falls, Idaho where he worked
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as the manager of Welfare Services. He
moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1984 and lived there for 33 years. Ray loved living in Colorado
where he spent much time outdoors hiking the famous Colorado “fourteeners”. Ray enjoyed
serving as a mentor and leader in the Boy Scouts of America organization. He loved building
things and was constantly tinkering or working on projects for his wife and daughters, working
in his yard and garden, and driving his red Ford truck.
Ray loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and serving in the church. He was a beloved Bishop, served
in the Young Men’s organization and as a temple worker in the Denver Colorado temple.
Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanie Prina; children Teresa Lewis of Sandy, Utah; Nicole
Jackson (Jon) of Vancouver, WA; Monique Frost (Allen) of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and Stephen
of Riverton, Utah. He is survived by 12 beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
There will be a visitation and graveside service on April 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at
Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A
celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021 as covid restrictions ease.
