Clint passed away July 23rd after suffering a massive stroke the week prior.
An amazing father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Clint was always there for anyone who needed anything. He did not have the word “no” in his vocabulary, and worked tirelessly for others his entire life. He grew up in a very close-knit family and cherished his relationships with all of his siblings.
In his early years his favorite pastime was hanging with his brother and their three closest friends, whether it was roaming Murray Park, swimming at South High, or just hitchhiking up and down State Street for entertainment. That friendship has lasted a lifetime as they remain a close-knit group to this day. He also played drums in a band with some close friends, two of which were surely waiting for him so they could have a long awaited jam session. Clint loved music of all types his entire life and was a regular at karaoke bars for many years. His rendition of Mustang Sally was always a crowd favorite, but Clint could sing practically anything and would often just bust into an impromptu rendition of some favorite tune while at work, solely to entertain his niece, nephew, or the rest of the crew.
Clint’s greatest accomplishment in life were his three boys and his grandson, all of whom he loved dearly. Even with different struggles in some of their lives, Clint never stopped loving them nor stopped trying to make their lives better.
Clint is survived by his sons Nicholas Clinton (Becca), Justin George, Jason Peter, awesome grandson Lincoln Alexander, sisters Joyce Anderson (Olie), Carolyn Brierley (Steve), Jeanette Gillman (Larry), Debby Bertoch (Steve), Paula Swanke, Jennifer Johnston, Suzanne Jones and brother Gil (Becky), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Herb and Donna, brothers Bradford Aaron and Raleigh Milton and brother-in-law Ed Swanke.
Clint’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be spread along the Oregon coast. There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday Aug. 28th at the American Legion Post 112 from 1-4 pm in the backyard (kids welcome) 320 east 3900 south. Please come and share your memories.
