Clifton Reed Hofheins Jr.
February 7, 1931 – April 7, 2016

Clifton Reed Hofheins Jr. passed away at the age of 85 on April 7, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on February 7, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifton Reed Hofheins Sr. and Addie Potter Hofheins. Reed married Adeline Lenore Pomeroy on June 4, 1953.
Reed grew up in Millcreek, Utah. He served an LDS Mission in Long Beach, California, where he met his sweetheart, Adeline. They spent 40 years raising 7 children in Sandy, Utah. They later moved to Riverside, California and spent a couple of years there. They moved back to Salt Lake where they served two missions together one to Utah Valley College in Orem, Utah and the other to Nauvoo, Illinois. When they returned home they moved to Eagle Mountain, Utah where Reed served as the Stake Patriarch for 3 years. They spent their remaining years living in South Jordan, Utah so they could be close to their children. Reed was a brick mason for 50 years. His craft could be seen throughout the Western United States. Reed always carried himself as an honorable man, to which only the love of his wife and family, as well as his heavenly father could match. Reed will be deeply missed but we find strength knowing that he has rejoined his true love and that he leaves us in love.
He is survived by his children Dave Hofheins, Robert (Colleen) Hofheins, Denise (Cindy) Tidwell, Deonne Hofheins, Rick (Andrea) Hofheins, Desiree (Robert) Calley, Paul (Megan) Hofheins, adopted daughters Tammy Sarhan and family, and Susan Stewart, 19 Grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Reed is preceded in death by his sweetheart Adeline just 5 months prior and his parents.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Thank you, Reed, for raising us in your honor. The family would like to thank Brighton House for lovely caring for our parents.
