Cleotilda “Tive” Garcia

Cleotilda “Tive” Garcia, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, g-g-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away October 14, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born April 9, 1936, El Rito, NM, to Genera and Jose A. Martinez. Married Avelino Joe Garcia, 1971.
Tive was an exquisite and compassionate soul who was there for everyone that stepped through her doorway. She was a genuinely caring person who found the good in everyone and the positive in every situation. Tive was swift to forgive and used her quick wit and sense of humor to lighten everyone’s burdens. Her unwavering determination and courage provided us all hope through life’s many challenges. Tive’s incredible love and compassion for her family and friends is a legacy that lives on with all of us who were blessed to have her in our lives. Heaven has surely gained a spectacular angel.
Survived by children, Hilda (Reuben) Rodriguez, Donald Lopez, Gilbert Lopez, Filbert (Carol) Lopez, Pam (Rollin) Cook, Patrick (Brenda) Lopez, Dominic (Tricia) Garcia, Juanita Garza, Jena Samaniego, numerous grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, husband Joe and children Diana Lopez, Jose “Shorty” Lopez and Lorraine Lemus.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 9:00 a.m. at St. Martin De Porres Parrish, 4914 South 2200 West Taylorsville. A Rosary will be held, Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at St. Martin De Porres Parrish with a viewing immediately following from 8-9:30 p.m. Interment Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 Redwood Road, Taylorsville.
