Claudette Reynolds Nielsen

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 7, 2016. Born May 22, 1932 in Murray, Utah to Rulon Jay Reynolds and Irene Ellen Ruffell Reynolds. Married Robert Hans Nielsen on March 6, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Claudette was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many church callings, one of her favorite things was teaching the Mia Maid class. She had an amazing voice and loved to sing. When traveling as a family we always enjoyed when she would sing for us. Mom and Dad were Utes fans and had Season Tickets to Football and Basketball. She retired after working for 20 years at the University of Utah. She was always kind to everyone and she gave unconditional love to her family, friends and strangers. She loved to crochet and many of her family and friends received the gift of an afghan that she had made. She is survived by her children, Julianne (Ryan), Robert (Moana), Barbara (Curtis), Launi Kay, Paula (Larry), April (Randy), and Claudette Lynn; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers: Arlan, Charlie, Leonard, Ray, Larry and Sister: Judy and many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her loving husband; her parents and brother Rulon. Viewings will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road and from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at the church prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Union 7th Ward, 6770 South 500 East, Midvale, UT. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery. Our family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and CNA’s at St. Marks Hospital and the staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice for the tender care they gave our Mother.
