CLARENCE TOMMY BRASHER
August 3, 1941 ~ July 23, 2014
Today I awoke pain was gone. I cautiously rose willing my body to lie as it was, at peace at last. I embraced and kissed my wife Stefanie one last time, my partner and trail mate of the past 35 years. Then drifting through the house which had been home for more than 30 years, I stopped at Stefanie’s picture gallery and bade a fond farewell to my children; Mark, Ann Marie, Leesa, and Lynda their mates and wonderful children. Then drifting through the front door and began my journey on a new adventure.
I was born August 3, 1941 to Clarence and Reila Brasher in Huntington, Utah. I was raised on a farm three miles northeast of Huntington where we lived in a two room house of log construction lacking electricity running water and indoor plumbing. By 1946 the family grew with the addition of brothers Jerry 1942, Wayne in 1946, and Arthur in 1953. We lived in these humble surroundings in comfort and unaware of our humble lifestyle largely owing to an angel mother who was always “just fine” and expected nothing less from my brothers and me. Mother had us all convinced that we had bread and milk for supper many nights because we really liked it and not because it was what we had. On special occasions we had green onions or jelly with the bread and milk.
Our husband and father’s words end here but his spirit will dwell within us as we continue this journey. We were blessed with his presence and wish that it could have been prolonged. Though we understand and appreciate our Heavenly Fathers plan. It provides the family great comfort to know family members were on the other side ready and excited to receive him. Our father’s new journey brings us all true sense of peace and joy to know he is at peace and free of pain. We love you Dad, till we meet again.
Thank you to all the EMT’s, firefighters, and police who assisted and did their best to resuscitate our loved one. Thank you for your kindness and sensitivity in our time of need.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cannon Ward 1250 West 1400 South, Salt Lake City.
