Clara Hepworth

After 97 years of a life well lived our wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Great-great-grandmother passed away June 26, 2014 in Layton, Utah surrounded by her children. She was born to Nora Smith and William Bauman. She was the oldest of six children. Her parents; sister, Phyllis; and brothers, Douglas, William, and Jerry preceded her in death.
She married Dean Reese Hepworth November 16, 1935. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple April 13, 1956.
Mother was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held several callings and loved to serve. Mother and Father went to Atlanta Georgia on a Fellowshipping Mission. Also, Mother served two other missions in Salt Lake City, a Genealogical Mission and a Member Locating Mission.
Her husband preceded her in death on May 8, 1987. Her son, Dennis Dean also preceded her in death, and a grandson, Kirk Winkler.
She is survived by her four daughters, Colleen Winkler (Richard, deceased), Sharon Jacobsen (Ronald, deceased), Joyce Williams (James), Gayle McCloy; sister, Jean Grande; sister-in-laws, Helen Bauman, Maudella Hepworth, and LuDean McGrath; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
Mom and Dad owned and operated two Pink Poodle Drive Inns. One in Salt Lake City and one in Bountiful. They also owned a cabin in the mountains which they enjoyed in the summers.
We loved her and will miss her until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 12:00 Noon, with a viewing from 11:00-11:45 AM, at the Rose Park 1st Ward East Chapel, 1160 West 800 North, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will also be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment at the Bountiful Cemetery.
