Christopher Michael Gonzales

“God’s Most Blessed Son,” Christopher Michael Gonzales. “Romeo Jr.” Passed away in God’s Grace on August 21, 2016 at 2:22 p.m.
He was born on October 12, 1987, to Beverly R. Gonzales in Salt Lake City, Utah. Raised By Gordon S. Jones. Chris was always full of such confidence and “Boy, that smile could melt a Girls Heart.” Chris loved Football, Family, Friends and the Indianapolis Colts. His greatest love of all was spending time with his children.
He is survived by his Parents, the love of his life- Jenny Lopez, and his Children- Donovan Vincent and Jada Dionne. Mother in law- Sandra Barbosa (Jesus- Jesse, Esmeralda, Esaih). Grandmothers- Juanita Chavez, Nancy Jones, Brunhilda Arellano, Grandfather- Arthur Arellano (Pauline, Angela, Joseph). Sister- Vanessa Stephanie Gonzales (Andrew Garcia- Bella- Aubri-Rosi). Brother- Jacob Jones. Great Aunt- Ramona Gonzales, Great Uncle- Hilario Samora. Aunts- Sherri Jones (Alex), Lori Jones (Shannon). Uncles- Juan Gonzales (Sheri- Samantha, Derrick, Selina), Arturo Chavez Jr. (Monique- Christina, Julian, Dominic, Natalia), Uncle- Frederick Samora (Cameron Frederick Samora), Special Cousins- Vincent Samora Jr., Kiono Nevarez, Sophia (Tommy Garber), Romeo Samora. He is also survived by numerous family members, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
His brothers from another mother- Zach Navales, Nick Zumaeta, London Davis, Paul Lovato, Alberto Perez, Frank Jimenez, Robert Ofa, Balin Cruz, Joshua Guanajuato, Ben Farr, Kitt Dunn, Ben Stalling, Mike Quintana, Tony Gates, Vincent Vasquez, Matt Larsen Frankie Martinez and Chris Edmonds. I will cherish them for the rest of their lives for being there for my son.
Respected Football Coaches- Siope and Vea Ofa and a very great person who our family was so personally touched by for his spirit, and was with my son at the most difficult time of his life- Andre Jevon Carter. Also, Lisa Baeskins, Gloria Martinez, George Archuleta, Gilberto and Jenny Magana and Larisa Durazo. The love that was given during Chris’ last breath has moved all of us to truly believe in something bigger in this world. We are truly sorry if we missed anyone who was at the hospital. There were so many people who reached out to Chris at his most vulnerable and we all thank you so much.
He is preceded in death by his Uncle Vincent Samora, Grandfather- Glen Jones, Great Grandfather- Frederico Gonzales and Jake Read. Great Grandmother- Estefanita “Fannie” Gonzales and Great Grandmother- Mae Jones.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 257 N 700 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Viewing and Rosary will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to Redwood Memorial Estates. We would like to thank everyone who supported and loved Christopher in his life. As Chris would say, “Peace!”
