Christian Timothy

Christian LeVell Timothy, 36 years old, died on September 6, 2021. Born on November 14, 1984, Christian was the son of Jeannine and Warren Timothy, and his childhood was filled with laughter with his three younger siblings: Steven, Elyse and John. Christian graduated from Murray High School in 2003, and earned his BA in Finance from the U of U in 2008.
Christian enjoyed learning about history and about people. Always on the lookout for the next person who needed his help, he continually made room for others within his ever-expanding heart. The path to happiness for Christian was paved with love and devotion to his family, abiding loyalty to his friends, and deep conversations with those who were not afraid to share heart to heart.
Christian participated in many sports, and he enjoyed basketball and weightlifting throughout his life. The years he played with many of his favorite friends in the Greek Orthodox basketball league were filled with tears, trophies and sweaty bear hugs, and Christian loved it all.
Sturdy of frame with dynamic intelligence, Christian’s strengths and talents came under siege with an opioid addiction which he struggled against for many years. Those who were with him this past year in rehab treatment have shared with our family their memories of the happiness, love and devotion Christian showered upon them all as they worked as brothers to stand strong against addiction and find peace and wholeness in God’s grace.
The love Christian felt for all of us will live on in our hearts, and a part of him also lives on in two donor recipients who received his kidneys. This was Christian’s last act of love and service.
Christian is survived by his parents Jeannine and Warren, his siblings Steven (Stephanie), Elyse, and John (Ali); and an extension of his siblings, his cousins: Stephanie, Kate (Kyle), Andrea (Dean), Andrew (Julia), Maria (Justin), Elaina (Nic), Jasmine (Nate), Skyler, Pilar, Alexa, Steven, Evia, and Katia. Christian is also survived by his godson, James, and his five nieces and nephews, Sophia, Costa, Victor, Margo and Emmelia; his aunts and uncles, Dino and Kristy Pappas, John Pappas, George and Carrie Pappas, Denise and Igg Gianopoulos, Stephanie Pappas and Kristen Dalzen, Wayne and Jodi Timothy, John and Teresa Lynch, and Dan and Jane Lynch, his Timothy and Lynch cousins, and his godmother, Elaine Zambos.
Christian is survived by more family members in California, Texas, Washington, and Greece. He is also survived by very special friends in Georgia.
A private family funeral was held for Christian at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church. A celebration of life will be forthcoming when we are safe to gather in joy and love to remember Christian.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christian’s name to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Cornerstone Campaign or to the Hellenic Cultural Museum.
