Christian LaVar Perrine, (29) our cherished son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend to many tragically passed away on July 27th, 2024. He was born on August 24th, 1994, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT to David William Perrine Jr. and Kimberly Mildred Zito.
Christian was an excellent student and so smart. He was raised in Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School International Baccalaureate Program. Christian then went on to graduate with a degree in nursing from Salt Lake Community College and worked as an RN for Primary Children’s Hospital, the University of Utah, St. Mark’s Hospital and at the time of his death, he had just started a new role as a hospice nurse with Intermountain Health Care. Christian’s colleagues described him as kind, sweet, compassionate, driven and someone who always advocated to make a positive difference in the lives of his patients.
To know Christian was to love him. He had the sweetest soul and always put others before himself.
Christian lived his life to the fullest with intense energy and passion devoting most of his time to helping others. Christian loved to travel with his partner Rick and they explored many parts of the U.S. together along with also traveling internationally to Spain, London, and Australia among others. Christian enjoyed exploring the art, food and cultures when traveling.
Christian was an on again and off again Vegan who loved sharing his questionable recipes with family who were always supportive of him and willing to taste almost anything he made. Christian was never shy about sharing the reasons why we should also adopt his healthy habits.
Christian loved animals which led him to rescuing his three beloved dogs, Ledger, Bruno, and Sydney. He made sure they had a homemade meal every day and that they lived a sophisticated lifestyle that included walks and lots of cuddles as well as multiple hair styles. The dogs traveled frequently with Christian and Rick.
Christian was artistic and created beautiful artwork from a very young age with his cousins Jesse and Skylar by his side. Christian also loved to thrift and spent many hours shopping at D.I., Facebook Marketplace and at various farmers and flea markets to find treasures that he could repurpose and make beautiful again. He was passionate about supporting local businesses and encouraged others to do the same.
Christian loved nature and music. He attended many concerts and festivals with his family and friends and loved nothing more than singing at the top of his lungs and striving to hit the highest operatic notes he could much to the dismay of those around him. He also loved to dance and did so with pretty good rhythm.
Christian’s childhood was spent with his siblings and cousins always nearby. Many summer nights were spent playing ghost in the graveyard, sleeping outside, eating junk food, and running around the neighborhood way past dark.
Christian was the life of the party. He always made sure that everyone was having a good time. His lopsided smile was adorable, and his laugh was infectious. He always put others happiness before his own.
Christian was preceded in death by his father, David William Perrine, Jr., his grandfather, David William Perrine, Sr. and his grandmother, Linda Reed Zito.
