Chiuying Tauvao Chien

July 8, 1966 — December 22, 2020

Chiuying Tauvao Chien, came into the world on July 8, 1966 and she returned unexpectedly to her Heavenly Father on December 22, 2020 due to Covid19 complications at the IMC Hospital in Murray, Utah. Chiuying is survived by her eternal companion Livingstone Aliimalemanu Tauvao, and her son Samuel Hongli Chien Tauvao (her world and the other love of her life), her loving parents Yurang Khang Chien and Ah Chuan Lin and her three beautiful younger sisters, four nieces and one handsome nephew. Chiuying Chien married Aliimalemanu Livi Tauvao in 2000 in Honolulu, Hawaii and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Kona, Hawaii Temple.
Chiuying graduated from National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science as an Oncology Registered Nurse. She attended Hawaii Pacific University and Phoenix University. Her Nursing career started in the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital. Chiuying then worked at the Taipei MacKay Memorial Hospital, the Taiwan Adventist Hospital and the Taipei Veterans’ General Hospital. She came to America to pursue her nursing career and further her education in 1997. Chiuying became licensed as a nurse in Hawaii, California, and Utah. Her career in America started at Queen Emma Medical Center and then at OnCare Hawaii Oncology. In 2012 she moved to Utah and worked for Huntsman Cancer Center at the University of Utah and specialized as an Infusion Oncology Registered Nurse. Chiuying worked on the medical front lines during the covid-19 pandemic until she recently tested positive for covid-19 and was told to quarantine at home.
Chiuying was known by her coworkers as loving, strict, tough, kind, straight forward, “go read it yourself”, distinctively smart and no-nonsense. She was extremely hardworking and would volunteer for holiday and overtime shifts. Chiuying was very devoted to her patients and worked diligently to care for them. Chiuying loved to read and research anything regarding her profession and was incredibly knowledgeable about oncology infusion nursing.
Chiuying gained a love for cooking and baking when her son started asking about different varieties of food and pastries. She loved to hike, ski, do pilates, cook, and work in her little garden. Her favorite food was her Mother’s traditional Chinese soup that she also cooked for her family.
Chiuying was a loving and compassionate woman who cared about her family and everyone around her. Chiuying spent her life in service both at home and at work. She was a good friend to everyone in her circle of influence. Chiuying worked tirelessly to give her family a good life. Chiuying loved her family, her parents, her sisters and their families.
