Chester R. Jaynes, age 83, died September 20, 2014 in Murray, Utah surrounded by his family and friends. He was born February 19, 1931 in Murray, Utah to Chester Dee Jaynes and Maneta A. Gilman. He faithfully served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and returned to Utah to work for the Utah Department of Transportation. Chester, painted crosswalks and parking lots for the State of Utah. After 41 years, he retired from UDOT. Chester was a long time resident of Crescent, Utah now Sandy.
He is survived by sister-in-law, Nancy (Perry) Jaynes Olsen, many loving nieces and nephews. Chester was preceded in death by parents, brother, L. Dee Jaynes and sister, Wanda Jaynes Pollock.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 26, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Chapel, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be Thursday, September 25, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment to follow the services at Crescent Cemetery.
