Charlotte Maxwell

Charlotte Lucille Perkins Christensen Maxwell, our amazing wife, mother, and grandmother went to meet her eternal companion on November 4, 2014. Charlotte was born on May 20, 1928 to Victor and Lucille Christensen in Logan, UT. Charlotte grew up in Preston, ID with 3 older brothers and 1 younger sister. It was after the war that she meet the love of her life and eternal companion George McCann Maxwell. Char and George were married on October 5, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1958. Char and George resided in Salt Lake City, where they raised four children. Char enjoyed working for JC Penney’s for 25 years. Char and George spent many fun years as snowbirds in sunny Tucson, AZ. She had a deep love for the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings. Charlotte loved a good bargain, you could often find her at a garage sale, thrift store or swap meet. She was always smiling and cheerful. Her door was always open for family, friends and neighbors to visit with. She loved to chat around the kitchen table where she would enjoy sharing a coke with you. Other favorite things were spending time with her family, bowling, playing games, and she loved her dogs, especially Harley. Charlotte is survived by children Vickie Boone (Michael), Scott Maxwell, David Maxwell (Sherryl), grandchildren Stephanie Scribner, Matthew Maxwell, Todd Maxwell, Stacia Hoecherl, Jared Boone, Jessica Maxwell, 10 great grandchildren, honorary daughters Kim Barnett and Vicki Gray, sister Carol Callahan. Preceded in death by her husband George Maxwell, son Steven Maxwell, her parents, and 3 brothers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wish to thank the care givers at Alta Ridge Memory Care for their loving care. Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014, at 12:00 noon at Winder 5th Ward (1361 E. 4000 So.) SLC, UT. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30-11:45 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund of the LDS Church. (pef.lds.org)
