Charlotte Ann Blackburn

November 20, 1927 — November 26, 2020

Charlotte Ann Blackburn, age 93, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 26, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on November 20, 1927 in Coal Creek, Tennessee to James Everett Conner and Henrietta Hutchins. She married Elden Hix Blackburn on August 24, 1946 in Daytona Beach, Florida. She graduated from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. Her and Elden lived in a variety of different states during their early marriage, and eventually settled in South Salt Lake City, Utah.
Charlotte enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader, and received the “Extra Miler Award.” She was the assistant director at the Kearns Senior Center, and was a member of the Red Hatter’s Society. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite accomplishment of hers was not killing her boys while they were young! Knitting, sewing, and crafts were how she loved to pass the time. Later in life, when they retired, they spent their time in the Uinta Mountains in their motorhome where the family would spend their weekends joining them. She had a heart felt love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a great candy maker, which she did professionally and for a hobby – especially at Christmas! Her divinity was a family and friend’s favorite. It was a necessity to make divinity on a clear day, or it would ruin it! Peanut butter brittle and peanut butter with cornflakes are another few of her popular dishes.
She is survived by her sons, Jim of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Gene (Joyce) of Kearns, Utah, and Brent (Vonda) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her 3 honorary grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elden H. Blackburn, and her daughter-in-law, Claudia Beth Blackburn. Her three sisters, Mary Jo, Lillian, and Sara (Lib), her Twin. Her two step brothers, James Randolph, and Mac Randolph.
