Charles Smalley

Charles Gilbert Smalley age 69, passed away on November 5, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on November 1, 1945 in Berwyn, Illinois to George Edwin Smalley and Charlotte Elizabeth Gilbert. Chuck graduated Adams State College in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in business. Shortly after graduating he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the war. Finishing his service in the Army with an honorable discharge, he returned to Colorado to marry Sharon Guthrie on June 27, 1971. Chuck enjoyed a wide array of hobbies. Some of his favorites were the Denver Broncos, playing his guitar, politics and genealogy. His greatest accomplishment is his family. He loved spending time with his family and doing anything that his grandkids were involved in. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Guthrie) and three kids Michael Smalley, Brian (Daye) Smalley, Jennifer Smalley, and grandchildren Kaylee, Austin, and Whitney Smalley, two brothers Ken and Scott Smalley. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Charlotte Smalley, and mother in law Virginia Guthrie. A small service will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, on Monday November 10, 2014 from 7:00-8:00 with military honors at 8:00.
