Charles Bernard Pemberton went home October 8, 2013 to be with his wife Clara Bella Pemberton who died March 27, 2010. Charles was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 1 Aug 1925. In his early life he enjoyed living in Oregon, hiking, fishing, and playing in high school sports. His high school was on the campus of the University of Oregon, of which he was a lifelong fan. He did not finish high school because of World War II, serving as an Army Ranger; but later completed his high school degree. He married Clara Bella Plitt, September 21, 1946. They served each other as beloved companions by enjoying many activities together such as hiking, reading, music, traveling, bike riding, and when they were distressed they watched out for one another. He always loved music and his home was filled with it. He joined the LDS Church and was later sealed to his wife in the Los Angeles Temple. He was a counselor on the high school level and helped young people which brought him joy. He was brave throughout a series of health challenges that he faced in life and was gracious to the people who helped him in those challenges. He and Clara had two children in their union, Charles Eric and Sonja Faith. They had 9 grandchildren and 14 known great-grandchildren. Family services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah paying tribute to Charles B. and his beloved wife Clara B. There will be a tribute by the military after the service.
