Charles passed away at the University of Utah Hospital at the age of 71, from the coronavirus on April 9, 2020. He was born on December 3, 1948 to Ruth and Charles Young in Salt Lake City, Utah. Charles graduated from Granite High School. He worked for Salt Lake County as a heavy equipment operator for many years.
Charles met the love of his life, Lee and together they were married on February 5, 1971 in West Valley City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 3, 1983.
Charles was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He especially loved spending time with his family. He had a unique ability to fix almost anything. Some of his most special times were sharing popsicles with grandkids and fixing their bicycles. Charles loved the song “Bad to The Bone” by George Thoro Good.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jeff Young.
He is survived by his sweetheart Lee, daughter; Keri (Jerry) Price and grandchildren: Nickole (William) Lopez-Perez, Justin Price and Ashley Wilson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. A staggered viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 12 noon to 1:45 PM at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery. In July, the family will be planning on holding a Celebration of Life to honor Charles.Service Information
