Charles Griffiths

March 21, 1933 — June 30, 2020

Charles “Bud” David Griffiths. 87 years old. Passed away on June 30th 2020 at home in Salt Lake City.
Born March 21, 1933 in Castle Gate Utah to Lucille Mills and David John Griffiths.
Married Lucy Lee Harrington on September 10th 1959.
Graduated from South High School. Served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1952-1956 reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Earned his Bachelor and Master degree in engineering from the University of Utah. Enjoyed working as an aerospace engineer, and retired from the Department of the Navy.
He was a hard worker, was always working on a project, and could fix anything.
He played the piano and guitar, and loved all kinds of music. He enjoyed photography and built a dark room in the basement to develop his own photos.
Survived by his wife Lucy, his children Linda Saxton and David Griffiths, and his grandchildren Larissa, Avery, and Shelby.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry D Griffiths, and his daughter Garnett Griffiths.
We will miss his kindness, generosity, his endless tales of adventure, and his love and devotion to his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa.
Graveside Services will be held on July 9th at 11:00 at the Mt View Memorial Cemetery at 3115 E 7800 S. There will be a viewing one hour prior at the same location. Interment will be at the Mt View Memorial Cemetery.
The service will be graveside. Please bring your own chairs of blanket for seating.
