Charles LeRoy Crosby passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at age 95 in Murray, Utah on August 11, 2024. He was born on July 12, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Hannibal Crosby and Ida Katarina Anderson. He married his sweetheart, LuDean Penney on May 7, 1953. They were sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple.

Lee began a lifetime of selfless service as a child when he would get up early to help his dad deliver milk. He continued this tradition of service by joining the army at age 19. Tragically, one year later, Lee’s father passed away. He then became the willing provider for his mother and three younger siblings and made certain to send his check to his mother each month.

He worked for Kennecott Copper Company, and after he retired, he drove bus for Murray School District. After retiring from Murray School District, he drove bus for a senior citizen center. He was a master gardener who freely gave the fruits and vegetables he harvested. He loved to help others and was an example to his family of love being an action.

He is survived by his wife, LuDean, his sons: Mark (Janice), Blaine (Catherine), and Bruce (Mary); 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Scott, his parents, and his five siblings: Betty, Elaine, Katherine, Bernice, and Glen.

He had the ability to make those around him feel loved, seen, and heard, and he will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, honor Lee by performing intentional acts of kindness to those you encounter. Be a little more kind, a little more gentle, and love everyone a little more.
