Charlene M. Stowe

July 23, 1936 — November 20, 2020

Born in 1936 in Lovell Wyoming, she was the 7th of 7 children born to parents Ludean and Besse Morrell. She married Lee Stowe in 1963 and welcomed step son Floyd.  In 1964, they welcomed Charlenes’s 0nly son, Ray.
“Grandma Char” was everyone’s “Grandma Char”, whether by relation or not.  She was a light to her family and everyone who knew her. Although her generosity and love reached many lives her fiercest loyalties were always to her family – and more specifically her grandsons.
Char loved books, crosswords, jokes, and old western TV shows. She always took an interest in others and what was important to them. She was known for her thoughtful gifts and letters sent to those she loved.
She was there for anyone, at any time and for anything.  Her beautiful heart touched everyone around her
Char was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While able, she was a constant volunteer of the canneries, donation centers, and served as a temple worker at the Salt Lake Temple. She always gave generously of her time and finances consistent with her commitment to put other’s needs above her own.
A special thank you to her family and residents of her apartment complex, St. Marks Tower.  She has so many special friends and memories.  We want you to know how much you are loved and appreciated.
Char is survived by her son Ray Stowe, her daughter (not-in-law but in love) Peggy Sasser Evans, 3 grandchildren Jeff (Lisa) Stowe, Christopher Stowe, Brian (Katie) Stowe, and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Pat
Services will be held in her honor at Memorial Redwood Cemetery and Mortuary at 6500 South Redwood Road on Tuesday December 1st. A viewing will be held between the hours of 12:00-2:00pm with the funeral and internment immediately following at the same location.
