Charlene Devenish Clark

December 31, 1933 — March 8, 2022

Devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Charlene Devenish Clark passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022 at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. Charlene was born December 31, 1933 in Helper Utah to Ethel Elizabeth Simmons and Charles Henry Devenish. She graduated from West High School. She married Eugene Clark on April 22, 1955. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many different callings, and especially loved being a Relief Society President and Compassionate Service Leader. She spent much of her professional life working in the insurance industry.
Charlene’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She supported all of her kids and grandkids in whatever activity they were in. Whether it was baseball, basketball, piano recitals or dance she was there cheering them on.
Charlene lived her life to the fullest.  She loved to play golf and often challenged her grandkids to a round. As an avid Utah Jazz fan, she and Gene rarely missed watching a game.  She was also known for her delicious cooking and enjoyed hosting family gatherings.  She loved to camp and vacation, and enjoyed traveling with her family all over the western United States and Canada in their RV.  She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Charlene was a person who served everyone.  She always put the needs of others ahead of her own.  We will miss her compassion, her smile, and her loving disposition.
Charlene is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers (Frank, Harold, Dean, and Cliff), sister (Dorothy), and infant sons. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gene, her children: David (Tina), Larry (Samantha), Tammy (Steve), 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 14, at 12:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 9800 South Flint Drive in Sandy. A viewing for friends and family will be from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment will be held at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery 7800 South 3115 East, Cottonwood Heights, UT.
