Carolyn Seifers Watts, 78 years old, beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend passed away December 22, 2013 surrounded by family. She was born May 30, 1935 in Ely, Nevada to Leonard and Hilda Seifers. She married her high school sweetheart, Elwood Lester Watts in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 3, 1954. They raised their children in Roy, Utah and later moved to Stansbury Park. Carolyn was a kind, compassionate woman who was thought of as a friend by everyone she met. She was particularly good with those who were elderly and they greatly benefitted from her tender care and friendship. She loved her family and devoted her life as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She will be greatly missed. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society Counselor, chorister, and Mutual adviser. Her many talents included sewing, cooking, & singing. She loved to read and quilt as well.
She is survived by her children, David (Marilyn) Watts, Steve (Krista) Watts, Lori (Merrill) Child, Darin (Kimberly) Watts, Bryan (Elena) Watts, and Jenny (Sean) Barnard; 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters: Marelyn Nielsen and Lenna Syphus; brothers: Leonard Seifers and Monte Seifers. She is preceded in death by her parents Hilda Dores Seifers & Leonard Duvae Seifers.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Stansbury Stake Center, 417 Benson Road, Stansbury Park. Viewings will be Sunday 5-7 pm at Porter Way Ward, 6591 North Star Discovery, Stansbury Park, December 29 and again at the Stansbury Stake Center on Monday, 8:45 am to 9:45 am. Interment to follow services at Redwood Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m., 6500 So. Redwood Rd, West Jordan.
