Carolyn “Jill” Garland

Carolyn “Jill” Garland, 74, passed away in her sleep at home on January 31, 2019. Jill was born on July 26, 1944 in Kenilworth, Utah to John McEwan Cox and Thelma Jewkes Cox. She was raised in Emery County, Utah with her siblings, many close cousins and dear friends.
Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
Jill loved her shopping trips and loved to make up reasons to go. She easily made friends wherever she went. Jill was affectionately called “Jillybean” by those closest to her. She was well known for her wit, sense of humor and sass. She will missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents John McEwan Cox and Thelma Jewkes Cox, her brother John Wayne Cox and her son in law Kevin Mark Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Earl Garland. Children- Tracilyn Williams, Kimberly (Chris) Peterson, Jeremy (Beth) Garland, Ryan (Merrilee) Garland. 9 Grandchildren- Nicholas, Tyler, Tanner, Hunter, Kaylee, Nathan, Brandi, Kevin and Rylee. 1 Great-Grandchild- Tinsley
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Memorial Redwood – 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., at the Latter Day Saints chapel – 3274 South 2760 West, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment at Memorial Redwood.
