Carolee Ulrich

November 24, 1944 — August 9, 2016

West Valley City, UT – It is with great sorrow I announce that Carolee Ulrich’s work here is now complete! Our dear guardian angel and best friend, our Mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister and aunt, our co-worker, neighbor and sweet friend has returned to her true home with her Heavenly Father on this day, August 9th, 2016. As she lay comfortably in her bed, surrounded by family, Carolee passed through the veil from this harsh and often difficult life of illnesses and pain to her new life filled with peace, warmth, and love.
Throughout her life, Carol loved nothing more than to open her home to all to come fill their bellies, feel the warmth of companionship, enjoy good conversation and be safe from the many challenges life often serves up. Today, we feel gratitude for the love she gave to all of us so freely. You will be missed Carol, but we will see you on the other side one day soon and we know you will be waiting for that day to come!
Born November 24, 1944 in Los Angeles California to Lois Julian and William Lapsley, “Cookie’, as many lovingly called her, lived life on her own terms. Those that loved her watched in amazement as she inspired and enlightened them. Carolee always made sure that we felt her love for us in her presence. She was defined by her dedication to hard work, commitment,  and sheer determination. She fought for her family every day, placing her personal desires, her goals, and luxuries aside to ensure her children had everything they needed. Even to her last days, Carolee was more concerned about making sure her children were okay rather than concerning herself with her own comfort and well-being. Carol loved the wilderness and spent as much time as possible camping and enjoying the mountains. We would often hear her say, “Although you may not be loving yourself right now, I am going to love you enough for both of us and we are going to make it through this, because we never Give Up!”  or  “Your lack of planning is not my emergency :)”. She was such a sweet spirit and she will truly bless the heavens with her amazing personality.
She is survived by her children Susan Cowley (Guy), Robert Jensen (Joann), Wendy Hall (John), Nanatte Cowley (Bill) and Jerry Ulrich (Sarah); Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother: William Lapsley, Sister: Lynn Long and many Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Lois Julin and William Lapsley.
