Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Carole Mae Medico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at home surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with ALS. Carole was born May 20, 1953 in Lebanon, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold W. Decker and Vivian Hudson and brother, Ronald W. Decker. Carole married the love of her life Brad M. Medico on September 14, 1971 and later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on March 29, 1990. Carole was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and magnified every calling she was given. She served in Primary, Young Women, Cub Scouts, and was a devoted visiting teacher. Carole was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Above all, Carole was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who always put her family first. Carole filled her home with love that everyone felt when they entered. Carole left her family with a firm foundation and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Special thanks and love to all the members of the Bennion 4th Ward past and present for their kindness and service. The family would like to thank the MDA of Utah and ALS Support group and her hospice caregivers for all the care and support they provided. She is survived by her husband, six children: Christian Lee (NaDean) Medico of West Jordan, Rabecca Lynn (William) Thurman of Taylorsville, Carie Ann (Peter) Romano of Taylorsville, Candice Elaine (Thomas) Middaugh of Cottonwood Heights, Janice Marie Kranwinkle of Taylorsville, and Jason Michael (Charisse) Medico of Taylorsville; her sister Vicki Lynn Radl of Layton and sister-in-law Robin Decker of Layton. She also had 19 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Bennion 4th Ward, 6250 South 2200 West. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan and one hour prior to services at the church.
