Our beloved mother Carole Jean Lucero passed away January 5, 2016. She was encircled by the love of her family when she was called home. She was born on August 2, 1933 to Les and Jennie Peirce. She married Eli Lucero on Sept 22, 1951, and their marriage was sealed in the Oakland temple in 1965. Eli proceeded her in death.
Carole was a devoted military wife during her younger years and supported her husband through two deployments. She left her family in S.L.C. to live on military bases in California and took care of three young children during her husband’s service to our great country.
She worked most of her life and spent twenty years working as a Unit Secretary at ST. Marks Hospital. Carole loved being active in the LDS church and held variety of jobs over the past fifty years. She did regular volunteer work in the South Jordan Temple and loved doing the Lord’s work.
She was a loving and doting grandmother of seven and a great grandmother of six. Her family was her biggest source of joy and happiness.
She is survived by Michael Lucero (Anna), Valerie Steinthal (Mike), David Lucero (Corie) and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Taylorville Stake Center, 1250 West Atherton Drive, Taylorsville, Utah 84123. A viewing will occur one hour prior to the funeral service. An evening viewing will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016, 6 to 8 PM, at Redwood Memorial 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.Service Information
