Cassie A. Chivers was called home to her Heavenly Father on 1/17/2021. She passed away peacefully at the age of 75 at her South Jordan, Utah residence.
She was born to Lawrence J. and Beverly Gentry Vaughn on May 31st. 1945 in South Salt Lake, Utah. In 1963 she graduated from Granite High School, and went on to the U of U.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lynda Hickerson and her brother Daniel B. Vaughn.
She is survived by her four sons. Derek L. Snyder, Rory A. (Lisa) Snyder by her first marriage to Roy A. Snyder. And Daniel J. Chivers and Matthew J. Chivers by her second marriage to John D. Chivers. Her siblings Gerald (Colleen) Vaughn, Keven Vaughn, Trina (Joel) Fitzgerald and David Vaughn. 8 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Cassie was loved by all who knew her. Her greatest treasure were her children. She loved being a mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was an outstanding cook and was well known for making her amazing pie cookies, caramels and fudge. She loved to serve and made countless dishes for many church activities, services and parties throughout her life.
Cassie was always up for an adventure. She loved to go white water rafting, camping and fishing. She loved to travel and had a passion for reading. You could always find her
outside, as she was a sunshine girl.
She held several positions in her professional life, from being a secretary and typist, to a paralegal for a law firm as well as being a weight loss specialist. She developed a true passion for sales and her favorite career was working in the travel industry. She loved working with people and always excelled to the top of her field.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held callings in both Primary and Mutual. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in the choir. Her most sacred accomplishment was getting her endowment in the Salt Lake City Temple at the age of 70.
She had a very strong testimony and loved to share the gospel with others. She truly loved her Heavenly Father and her savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. We will deeply miss her infectious laugh, her vibrant smile and all the deep conversations she had with all of us.
Until we meet again, we will be loving you.
