Carol Yates

November 12, 1931 — August 19, 2022

Carol Darlene Yates Maiden Name: Newson
Midvale, Utah
Carol D. Yates (nee Newson) left this world for the next on Friday August 19, 2022 at 1:45pm. Although she was 90 years old and declining in health, she kept her “Carol spunk” til the very end.
She was most proud of all her family, as well as the dogs she had over the years. Her beloved and deeply missed husband, Kenneth Yates, went bravely before her on July 2, 2021. Her devoted daughter Karen Spendlove provided such wonderful full-time care to each of her parents for years, as well as her late spouse Foster Spendlove before them – who considered Carol & Ken his parents too. Carol loved spending time with and hosting backyard dinners with all of us. She loved and adored her grandchildren Alexis Spendlove (Brock Didericksen) & Ian Spendlove (Caroline Cain), and her 5 great grandchildren who lit up her world: Isaiah Ian, Korinne Rose, Isys Ryan, Edgar Jeret, and Zackary Brock. She put thought into every detail of every holiday and get together in order to make it memorable and special.
In her day, she made lifelong cherished memories with her father and mother: Clarence & Margie Newson along with her siblings, and later their spouses and children: Clarence W. Jr.(passed on), Betty “Jean” (passed on) , Margaret “Elaine”, Shirley, James “Jimmy”, Earl, and Mary. Carol adored her mother-in-law, Annie Pedersen, and all the in-laws from the Yates family tree, too! She and Ken would reminisce and tell their fun stories all the way to the end.
As Carol would always sign her correspondence: “Love Always”.
