Carol Hale Peterson returned to our heavenly home at age 86 in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 3, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born April 7, 1929 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Karl Barrett Hale and Delsa Grant Hale. Our mother met and fell in love with our father Donald Ray Peterson while attending LDS Business College. She loved telling the story of how they met. They were married on December 31st, 1948 in Coalville, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were married for 67 years.
She was a stay at home mother until her children were older, and then pursued a career with ZCMI until she retired. We feel so blessed to have had her as our mother. She was proper, elegant, obedient, dedicated, Christ like, compassionate, sweet, scriptorian, talented, a beautiful seamstress, knitter, and crocheted. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her family and friends.
She loved and served our Heavenly Father and our Savior. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings and served a mission at the Bishops Store House with our father.
She is survived by her husband Donald Ray Peterson, Sons and Daughters Michael H. Peterson (Coleen), Donald Bradley Peterson (Ruth), Jennifer Peterson Slade (Robert), Michelle Peterson West (Scott), Richard H. Peterson (Rachelle), Joseph H. Peterson (Shellie), 30 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, Brother Karl Grant Hale, Sisters Lois Hale and Barbara Hale Fisher.
