Carlene Cristina De Las Casas Tomlin

October 13, 1967 — April 30, 2019

Carlene came into this world to a loving and excited family on October 13, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the first grandchild on both sides of the family. Her loving parents were Pepe and Carolyn de las Casas. She passed away after a difficult battle with cancer on April 30, 2019.
She attended Catholic school at St. Vincent’s and Judge Memorial High School. After graduating High School she followed in her dad’s footsteps and attended SLCC studying Hair Styling. Soon after she joined her father working in the family business at Pepe’s Barber Shop. She loved working there and spending time with her dad. She loved that he was so proud of her and that they shared 25 years together in the business.
She met her sweetheart Kelly Tomlin and they were married in 1987. They would have celebrated 32 years together this year. Kelly and Carlene welcomed two wonderful sons into their family; Geoffrey (Lakshmi) and Joshua (Makayla). Carlene loved being a mom. Carlene loved her sons but lived for her grandchildren Tucker and Zoee. They were the light of her life!
She worked for Selecthealth for the past 4 years before her passing and made many wonderful friends. The family appreciates the time they gave her as she fought so hard over the past 2 years.
She is preceded in death by her sister Charissa and both sets of grandparents.
