Carla Chapman Kimball

August 20, 1938 — August 2, 2021

Carla Chapman Kimball was a caring wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend. She left this world August 2, 2021, at the age of 82 holding the hand of her beloved sweetheart Mel, of 65 years and surrounded by her children.
She was born August 20 1938 to Horace and Ruth Chapman. She is the oldest of 7 children and her siblings often came to her for advice. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Davis High school class of 1956. She married her high school sweetheart Rumel H. Kimball on April 12, 1956 and they were recently sealed in the Bountiful Utah Temple. Together they had 7 children. She loved traveling with family and friends. She and Mel traveled to many parts of the world some of which include China, Japan, Tahiti, England, Germany and their favorite resort in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. In the early years she spent many weekends camping with family in the desert and mountains of Utah.
Mom loved her 28 years of employment for Davis County Nutrition Services School lunch program.  She worked as a cook, manager and her favorite position was working as a coordinator at the district overseeing 50+ schools. She made many lifelong friends with the coworkers and students that she worked with. Mom was a master cook and baker. She was known for her incredibly delicious cinnamon rolls, peanut butter bars, breads and Christmas toffee. Mom had many hobbies that she shared with her family. She loved sewing, crocheting but her favorite was gardening. Mom could make any plant bloom and grow with her green thumb. She spent many hours in her yard creating a beautiful place for her family and friends to enjoy.
She is survived by her loving husband, 5 children, Vicki Wilkins (Court), Barbara Nicholls (Perry), Mel Kimball (Kelly), Kenny Kimball (Vicki) and Sandra Zwahlen (Guy). She has 24 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren with 4 on the way.  Also survived by 3 siblings and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant daughters Suzan Faye and Linda Ann and 3 sisters.
A viewing will be held in her honor Thursday, August 5th 2021 from 6-8 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  located at 115 East Wicker Lane, Bountiful Utah. A funeral service will be held the following morning, Friday, August 6th 2021 at 11 am with a short viewing held an hour before services.
Interment at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah 84010
