Carl Silcox

July 13, 1934 — July 10, 2020

Carl Passed away Friday July 10, 2020 surrounded by his family. Carl was raised in Riverton Utah and enjoyed the small-town life. Carl Married Jean Gilbert latter divorced. Carl met and married Yvonne McCluskey and settled in Sandy to raise their family.
Carl grew up playing sports, hunting and camping with his Riverton crew. To say Dad was a sports fanatic would be an understatement, if he wasn’t playing it he was watching it or reading about it in the paper.
Carl loved hunting with his family, playing baseball with his dad, Friday nights was spent bowling with the Friday night mixed league and then latter in life with his Sisters and Mom on the Senior league.
Dad worked many jobs in life, but he loved working at the Glenmore golf course the most, he loved golfing with his Brother in-laws, his kids and Grandkids. He was super proud of his golf carts and if we could we would have buried one with him!
Dad had a special bond with all his sibling but Mary Jo was his buddy, she took care of him after Mom died and made sure he was not lonely. He looked forward to his Saturday night dinners with the Family and the Wednesday night dinners for free pie at the Village Inn.
Dad loved to go and watch his Grandkids play football, he was truly the 1# fan of anything Jordan High School. He was proud that he had 4 generations of Jordan graduates and would tell everyone.
Dad was a beloved Coach, he coached through Jordan Little League Football, Jordan Girls Softball.
As Dad got older and couldn’t play as much sports, he loved to come watch Sharlee play and tell her fellow team mates what they were doing wrong. Ask the question when you struck out “why would you swing at that”. His favorite saying was “always put your mitt on the ground you can always come up but you can’t go down” He will be missed by so many people and I hope his quotes will live on!
Our Dad was not perfect, and he could be difficult, but I think I can say it for all that met him he was never boring and left a lasting impression.
He is survived by his five children, Scott Silcox, Shellie (Annette) Silcox, Steven Silcox, Sharlee (Jody) Clark, Michael Harrington. Seven Grandchildren, Sydney Arnold, Brandy Silcox, Christopher Silcox, Nickolas Silcox, Cameron Clark (Brittany), Jared Clark (Pina), Devin Clark and four Great Grandchildren, Sister’s Mary Jo ( Ray), Bills, Nancy (Bill) Sylvester, Brother Neal (Beth) Silcox.
Proceeded in death by his Wife Yvonne, a Sister and his Parents. Celebration of Life, Thursday, July 16, 2020 the Clark’s residence from 7- 9pm. Please wear Jordan attire if you have any.
