Carl Rulon Clark

April 23, 1944 — July 27, 2021

Carl Rulon Clark, at age 77 of West Jordan, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Riverton, Utah while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 23, 1944 to the late William Moses Clark & Lillie (Rottweiler) Clark and raised in Menan, Idaho.
Carl graduated from Rigby High School in 1962 after which he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States/Cumorah Mission in upstate New York. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam Era from 1966 to 1972. He married the love of his life, Patricia Lee (Bell) Clark, who survives. Carl, Pat, and their children lived in Ucon, Idaho, where he was the Transportation Director for school district 93. In 1988 they moved to Redmond, Washington where he found his lifelong career in Human Resources at US West Cellular (Verizon Wireless). A job transfer in 2001 took him to West Jordan Utah where he continued his career until his retirement in 2009.
Carl and Pat loved making candy at Christmastime, they were also passionate about creating and maintaining a beautiful home and yard. He was a huge support to his children and grandchildren and loved to cheer them on. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had an infectious laugh and enjoyed reminiscing and telling stories. His faith in his Heavenly Father was constant and his love for his family unwavering.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four children, Darren Phil Clark (Susan) of Rexburg, Idaho, Michael William Clark (Kimberly) of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Carrie Lee Sweet (Sam) of West Jordan, Utah, and Curtis Carl Clark (Shandy) of Orem, Utah; 12 grandchildren, Kevin (Rachel), Ethan, Jacob, Courtney, Camilla, Carson, Parker, Cameron, Lillie, Dexter, Lucy, Phoebe. He is also survived by his brothers Fred Clark and Les Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Keith and a sister, Donna Mendenhall.
Viewing will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Copper Hills 6th Ward, 5349 West 9000 South, West Jordan, Utah on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on August 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the same location with another viewing from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM on the same day.
Interment will follow at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
