Our loving dad, Calman D. Hansen, was born on October 20, 1940, in Provo Utah to Rulon L Hansen and Leah Hazen Peck. Cal grew up in Bountiful Utah attending local schools and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1958. Cal Married Melody Duncan (1960), they had 2 sons, Wade and Daniel Hansen. Later Married Tisa Hatch (1977) having 3 more children, Tiffany, Cody and Ashley Hansen. He then married his best friend, Deanna Earl and gained 2 Stepdaughters, Tiffany Snow and Amanda Earl.
Our dad owned and operated his own Electrical Contracting company, from 1969 up until his passing. Cal was a member of the LDS Church, his faith always remained strong throughout his life. He was an avid Horse Lover. He raised and trained racehorses until 1978 when he developed his passion for airplanes, which he owned throughout his later years. He had a wide range of hobbies, from hunting to flying his planes, to boating in Lake Powell, he always lived life to the fullest doing what he loved most.
Those who knew Cal, knew he had the biggest heart and the most contagious laugh. He loved being with his loved ones and had a special place in his heart for his grandkids. Whether it be school performances, or baseball games, you could always count on him being in the crowd, clapping the loudest. Cal followed in his mother’s footsteps, with Generosity as a key part of his day-to-day life and taught his kids and grandkids to live with the same motto, “Love more, and Judge less”.
Up until his last days, he was telling jokes and making it a point to make those around him laugh. You could always count on him to tell the best jokes, some at times questionable, but loved to make anyone smile, regardless of how he was feeling. In May of 2023, Cal was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and throughout the following months, always held onto his faith and his passion for life. While he is no longer with us in person, we know he is on to his next great adventure. We will forever miss his laugh, his stories, his love, his knowledge, and his love for life.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his brother Gail, his daughter Tiffany, son Daniel, and his granddaughter Madyson. He is survived by his children, Wade (Rene) Hansen, Cody (Morgan) Hansen and Ashley Hansen, Tiffany (Ryan) Snow, and Amanda (Alex) Earl, along with his loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Dallas (Tina) Hansen, Mark (Krissi) Hansen, and Sisters, Cathie Hansen and Geri (Joe) Lugo, along with loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thank you to the Loveland Clinic at LDS Hospital, along with the countless Doctors and Nurses on the 8th Floor who showed our dad nothing but kindness and love during this process. Our sincerest gratitude and love to his hospice nurse Julie, who gave him the care, the comfort, and the love, to help him through this last transition.
