Byron Munsee

Byron C. Munsee, age 79, passed away on June 9, 2014, in Farmington, Utah due to injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born on April 10, 1935, in Bonita Utah to Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Munsee. He married Edna Hughes, later divorced. He then married Sandra Portner.
Byron loved all sports, but he was an avid fan of the Utes and Utah Stars. He enjoyed gardening, fishing (especially with his grandkids), camping, and his animals. He enjoyed nothing more than sitting on the back porch with a cold beverage listening to classical country. He graduated from West High School. He enjoyed working on airplanes as an electrician, both in the Air Force as well as at Hill Air Force Base. He also spent many years as a freight handler at Garrett Freight. Byron was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses July 16, 1971. He actively shared his faith and was an active member of the Bountiful Congregation.
He is survived by his children: Renée (Doug-deceased) Lessig, Lorin (Anjie), Lisa (Alan) Henich, Gina Massey, Glenn (Bridget), and Lani (Lance) Morton; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Verona, Ben, Frank, and Norene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Keith, and Al; and grandson, Devon.
Funerals Services will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 5:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 355 East 900 North, Bountiful, Utah. Visitation for friends and family will be held Saturday, June, 14, 2014 from 3 to 5 PM at Bountiful City Park, 400 North 200 West. Condolences may be sent to www.deseretmortuary.com.
