Brigham Evans

February 27, 1931 — February 18, 2018

Brigham P. Evans returned home to his Heavenly Father and loved ones on February 18, 2018, from congestive heart failure at the age of 86.
Brigham was born on February 27, 1931 to Edward William Evans, Sr and Mary Elizabeth Larson. He was the 9th of 14 children.
At the age of 4, Brigham came down with scarlet fever. The fever caused the bones in his nose to deteriorate, that is why there was no bone in the curve of his nose.
Brigham was always hard working. From a very young age, working 40 acres of sugar beets on his family farm to later on life working at the railroad. He loved to build and construct things with his hands. He made houses into homes.
At the age of 17, Brigham married his sweetheart Janet Olive Rasmussen on January 15, 1949. They had seven children; Mary, Janet, Brigham Jr, Lyman, Patrick, Paul and Floyd. In 1987 after battling cancer for 7 years, his wife, Janet passed away .
Brigham married Kandyce Newman in May 1988. He became a stepfather to Gail and Aaron. Brigham retired from the Denver & Rio Grand railroad and enjoyed spending time with Kandy and family. He was a proud grandpa and a great grandpa to a few bakers dozens. He leaves behind a legacy of love, honesty, kindness, unselfishness, and hard work.
He is survived by his wife Kandy, children; Mary (Darryl) Newman, Brigham P. Evans, Jr., Patrick L. (Maile) Evans, Paul M. (Kay) Evans, Floyd (Chris) Evans, Gail C. (Rock) Rugg, Aaron (Majorie) Syndergaard. 44 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet, son Lyman Evans, daughter Janet Staples, son-in law Ralph Staples, grandaughter Maria Staples, grandson Matthew Evans and daughter-in law Addie Evans.
He was a member of the LDS church having served as the Elders Quorum President. He will truly be missed and each of us will treasure the special memories that we shared. We all carry a piece of Brigham in our hearts. He is forever loved.
