Brent Earl Parker Sr.

June 23, 1941 — September 19, 2017

Brent Earl Parker Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Taylorsville, Utah, on September 19th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Brent was born on June 23rd, 1941 in Provo, Utah, and is the eldest son of Clarence Hugh Parker and Willa Higbee Parker.
At a young age, Brent gained a tremendous love and appreciation for his family that continued on throughout his life. While growing up, he enjoyed participating in many sports, especially baseball and football. He was honored to be a part of the baseball, football, and wrestling teams while attending Provo Highschool. He loved to attend social events with friends and family. He attended college at Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Brent served an LDS mission to London, England, and had many special experiences there while serving the Lord.
On April 1st, 1965, Brent married his best friend and the love of his life, Janet Sue Weimer in the Salt Lake Temple. During the 52 years they shared together, they raised their four children and met the many wonderful blessings and challenges of life side by side.
Brent was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to study the gospel and to keep a journal. He enjoyed the opportunity to serve in many callings over the years, some of which include serving on the stake high council, counselor in the bishopric, bishop, high priest group leader, and as a gospel doctrine teacher. He felt privileged to work in the Jordan River Temple in the baptistry for a time, and later on fulfilled a service mission with his wife Sue, at the LDS Church Family History Library.
Brent was a gifted cook and presented the meals he made beautifully. He made family dinners, birthdays, holidays, and “get togethers” very special and elegant, and would spend many hours preparing for these occasions ahead of time. He had a great love for spending time in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his family. He made many memories with loved ones on fishing, hunting, and camping trips over the course of his life, and those are some of our most cherished memories with him as well.
Brent was a hard and honest worker. He spent time working for Woolworth company, Equipment Distributors, among others, and then began his own company, Value Park Office Products. He knew his business well and enjoyed the process of buying and selling so much. Nothing compared to his love for his family. He truly loved his precious wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his parents and brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and all other family members. He will be deeply missed by each one of us.
Brent is survived by his wife, Sue Parker; his children: Kori Graham (Gary), Brent Parker Jr. (Kristi), Jennifer Rima (Kyle), and Bradley Parker; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Parker; his mother, Willa Parker; and his brother David Parker.
We want to express our most heartfelt gratitude to Dads wonderful caregivers, doctors, hospice care, and our dear friends and neighbors for their wonderful support.
