Braxden James Shank

Braxden James Shank, age 19, joined his brother in heaven on February 8, 2025. He was born on June 21, 2005, to Scott and Crystal Shank, in Murray, Utah. Braxden was known for his feisty personality, big brown eyes, those beautiful eyelashes, and his man bun. His hugs were the best, and so were his side eye looks. He was the happiest, chillest kid despite his daily challenges that never brought him down. If he didn’t like something or didn’t want to work, he would let everyone know with a simple “nuh-uh”. He, like his brother Jayden, defined all odds, as they wrote their own story. 

Braxden was very involved with the racing community, participated in 25 half marathons, and several other races. Special thanks to Tyson, Matt, and Eric. He did Special Olympics, played baseball for the miracle league, was involved with Mascot Miracles, Angle Hands, and he was featured with Scheels with his brother where they participated in the Salt Lake Half Marathon. 

Braxden loved to watch his tablet, play with his chewy, camping, swimming, races, biking, going to the Utes and Jazz games, and hanging out with family and friends. His most recent accomplishment was being in a movie, playing the part of a drummer named Brody. He attended Hartvigsen where he loved hanging out with his friends and teachers. 

Braxden is now with his brother Jayden; we can only imagine the reunion of two superheroes with a special bond. 

Special thanks to Wasatch pediatrics, Dr. Filloux, and the P.I.C.U. staff at Primary Children’s Hospital (Sara, Jen, Jess, Ashley, Claire, Sam, Sabrina, John, Courtney, Hannah, Emma, Rhett, Liz Q, and many others). Thank you for the special care he received. 

Braxden is survived by his Dad Scott, Mom Crystal, Uncle James (Jauslyne), Uncle Patrick (Jessica), Uncle Mike (Shanel), cousins Aspen, Lyndsee, Acia, J.J., Reign, Nico, James, Salem, Lincoln, Dallas, Lyla, Hazel, Jaxon, Carson, Easton, Mason, Grandma Shelley, Great Grandma Ersie, Great Uncle Gary, Great Uncle Steve, Great Aunt Darlene, Uncle Wayne, and numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

Braxden is preceded in death by his Brother Jayden, Grandma Susan, Pompa Jimmy, Uncle Ernie, Uncle Virgil, Uncle Marcus, Uncle Tony, Aunt Myrtle, Grandpa Dale, Papa Sam, Great Grandpa Harry, Great Grandpa James, Great Grandma Lucille, and Great Grandma Myrtle.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah 84121. The viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery in West Jordan.
