It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bonnie Lynn Jackson on January, 17th 2025, at the age of 74. Bonnie was born on September 24th, 1950, in Salt Lake City, UT to Vaughn and Beverly Rose Dansie as the second of five children, She grew up in Midvale with her brothers, Mikial, Richard (Patricia), Ronald (Debbie), and Jay (Christy).
On January 14th, 1972, Bonnie married the love of her life, Kenneth George Jackson. They had just celebrated 53 years of marriage. Together they raised five children: Melissa (Joseph), Christopher (Amy), Jeffery (Ashley), Tyler (Crystal), and Casey (Brittney). Bonnie loved her family more than anything and prioritized spending time with her kids and grandkids at community events, sports games, and musical performances.
At 18, Bonnie chose to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which changed the course of her life. As a faithful member, she had a beautiful testimony of the Gospel. She loved her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and tried her best to be like them in the way that she lived and the way she treated others. Those who knew Bonnie knew how much she loved to serve those around her. Alongside her husband, the two served faithfully in many “favorite” callings in their ward. Bonnie would go above and beyond for her family, friends, neighbors, or complete strangers to make sure they were taken care of in their time of need.
Bonnie was an avid skier, traveler, camper, and history lover. She skied her whole life and helped teach her children and grandchildren how to ski. She traveled around the world visiting places like Athens and the Great Wall of China. She often used camping and hiking as an opportunity to bring her family closer together, visiting places like Flaming Gorge, Bear Lake, and all five of the National Parks in Utah, there are too many adventures on hikes, or in caves to count. Bonnie made sure her children and grandchildren appreciated the beauty and history of the state of Utah, in which she lived her whole life, and she did hours of family history study tracing her family’s ancestry.
Bonnie was also an accomplished and award-winning auctioneer and businesswoman alongside her husband and children. In 1984 she and Ken bought an auction company from their neighbor and Auctioneers Ken & Bonnie Jackson began. They employed family, friends, and strangers who because friends for over 35 years. She spent countless hours auctioneering for estate sales, storage units, school and scout fundraisers, and more. She was well known and loved by the community for her bright spirit and her constant smile, even while working long hours and weekends.
