Bonnie, our sweet angel, was reunited with her parents and family on Feb. 10, 2016 due to complications with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Aug. 8, 1955 to Vernon John and Olive Goodsell in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bonnie really enjoyed playing Special Olympic Sports. Some of her favorites were ice skating, swimming, bowling, long jump, cross country skiing, running, basketball, and soccer just to name a few. She competed in the International Special Olympics, earning many medals and awards. She even appeared on TV on Wide World of Sports. Bonnie liked to make latch hook rugs. She took a painting class, and loved to color. Her favorite book was the TV guide, she had it memorized. She loved talking on the phone to friends and anyone else who called. Bonnie loved spending time with her parents, going on many trips with them. She loved to travel, “GO” was her favorite word. She especially loved spending time at the family cabin at Bear Lake. Bonnie loved listening to music and some of her favorites were Elvis Presley, Backstreet Boys, and Billy Ray Cyrus. She loved going to church, special mutual, camp, and any other activities that had to do with the LDS church. Bonnie was loved by all, and would make friends where ever she went. Her special gift was love.
She is survived by her siblings, brother Norman (DeeAnn) Goodsell, sister-in-law Peggy Goodsell, sister Sylvia (Doug) Wright, sister Joan Ruth, brother Dan (Carolyn) Goodsell and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Bonnie a lot.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Olive, her brother Ron Goodsell, nephew Keith Goodsell, and niece Samantha Sells.
A special thanks to Jenny for taking such good care of her Aunt Bonnie. From spending time with her and taking her to dances, concerts, and other fun places.
