Bonnie B. Smith

July 5, 1946 — September 26, 2018

Bonnie Marie Bruno Bogden Smith passed on September 26, 2018. Bonnie was born in Moroni Utah on July 5, 1946 and will be remembered for her grit, wit and drive. She was an expert with horses, had the greenest gardening thumb, made world-class salsa and absolutely loved golfing. Her passion for horses was a defining characteristic that she shared with her daddy Boone.
She was an early adopter of technology, working as a key-punch operator for Computer Hub in the late 1970’s. She was a dedicated employee of O.C. Tanner for more than 17 years and for 23 years was in business with her husband and life partner, Dean Smith, at D&G Scale in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was an accomplished business woman, with a passion for doing things the right way.
Although she was a master snow skier; she became a ‘snowbird’ later in life. She enjoyed boating trips at Lake Powell, spending Mother’s Day in Mexico deep sea fishing with her husband and enjoying a toddy at their second home in Mesquite Nevada.
She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Dean Smith, stepson Dean Smith Jr. her two children: Robert Hale Bogden (Carole) and Heather Corrine Bogden (Luke Edson). Her grandchildren Emilee Tayler Bogden, Steven Dru Bogden, McKenzy Hale Bogden, Halie Fleur Bogden, and her sister, Sophie Bruno Klossner (Hans). Preceded in death by her parents, Boone and Karma Bruno and her brother, Jack C. Bruno. Bonnie was a graduate of Murray High School and resided in Salt Lake City, Utah.
As per Bonnie’s request, there will be no funeral services. Her ashes will be spread in Fairview canyon or as she called it “down on the mountain”.
