Bobbie Brown

March 5, 1929 — April 19, 2014

Bobbie R. Brown left this earthly world for the eternal world on April 19, 2014 surrounded by his family. Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Bob was born March 5, 1929 in SLC, Utah to Camille Hansen and Rothwell E. Brown. He remained in SLC where he attended Granite High School. At age 17, Bob enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Chicago during the decommissioning of the Japanese military.
Bob met Janis Elaine Scott and they began their 61 year marriage on April 4, 1953. Bob worked in the automobile business most of his life. He was an avid reader, and passionately loved his pets. He was a real outdoorsman; he loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating, vacationing, and playing games with his grandchildren. His favorite pastime was creating memories and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Bob is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Jackson, Robyn Hoggan, Leslie (Ken) White, Lynette (Bob) Simpson; his sons, Bob (Angie) Brown and Jerry Kurowski, 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and sister, Sherry Croshaw.
Graveside services will be held on May 23rd, 2:30 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 So. Redwood Rd. with a celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donation to the American Lung Association or Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences may be left at www.redwoodmemorial.com.
