Bilene Chubbuck

On August 31st, Bilene Chubbuck passed away and joined her family and friends that preceded her in this journey. Bilene was born November 12, 1947 to Eli and Ellen Matson in Helper, UT. She grew up in Carbon County creating many lasting memories that she cherished. She loved sharing her experiences and held a fond place for Uncle Nolen’s corner store. During this time she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Steve Chubbuck. They married the summer of 1966 and shared 51 years of marriage. One of Bilene’s crowning achievements was the edition of her daughter Tami in the fall of 1970. From then on, they could be found sharing the great outdoors from camping, fishing to 4 wheeling and riding atvs. Though Bilene would rough it in the outdoors, she enjoyed many of the finer things in life including a love of shopping. She enjoyed seeking out those special items that would make a loved-one’s eyes light up and a smile on their face.
She spent time adoring her daughter and passing along the family traditions, especially the love of the holidays and warm satisfying meal shared with loved ones. With Bilene’s loving nature and jovial demeanor it made her an instant hit with all her nieces and nephews. Everyone cherished the time they spent with her. The other crowning achievement in life was grand motherhood. Oh how she loved her granddaughter, Brinley. Bilene’s eyes would shine when Brinley would start dancing or giving out hugs.
Bilene is survived by her husband Steve, sister Becky (John) McCormack and granddaughter Brinley Burningham. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tami and parents Eli and Ellen.
A viewing will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 So Redwood Road in West Jordan on Wednesday, September 6th from 6-8PM, then a small graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery in Helper, Utah will follow on Thursday, September 7th at 12PM.
