Beverly Jean Sorensen

May 14, 1936 — July 1, 2018

A precious daughter of our Heavenly Father returned home on July 1, 2018. Mom will be missed very much, but we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, our Dad.
Beverly Jean Jensen Sorensen was born on May 14, 1936 to Walt and Afton Leonard. Mom was the second child in a family of six children. She grew up in Salt Lake City. She had many talents which included a love for music. Her music talent made her a pianist in which she was able to bless many lives. If she was not playing the piano or listening to music, she would always be humming a tune.
She married Max Sorensen on December 4, 1953. She said often that her life began that day. She and Dad became one with each other. Through their love for each other they raised three children.
Mom’s love for Dad and her family was always felt right up to the end of her life.
Mom retired after 30 years of employment at the First Security Bank, now known as Wells Fargo Bank.
Mom had many friends throughout her life and she was making friends always, even in her last days. We would like to thank her many friends at the Herriman Beehive Home. Those friends were angels in their support of her and her family.
Mom’s survivors are her children; Jolene (Richard) Butterfield, Bruce Sorensen, and Wayne (Pam) Sorensen. She has seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mom and Dad’s marriage of 63 years is a great example to all of us on how to cherish each other.
Funeral services for Mom will be held on Friday, July 6th at 11:00 am at the Sandy Mount Jordan 7th Ward Building, 235 East 9800 South, Sandy, UT.  A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 am. Interment to follow at the Spring City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.memorialutah.com.
