Betty Lou Forman Moon

January 5, 1928 — June 14, 2019

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend quietly and peacefully passed away on June 14th, 2019, at the sweet age of 91.  She was doing what she loved most and that was visiting with her family.
She was born on January 5th, 1928, to William Henry Forman and Lucy Elizabeth Butterfield Forman.  She grew up with one older sister and eight brothers, who continually teased her. She was born and raised in Herriman, UT and graduated from Jordan High School.
She met the love of her life, Richard Ward Moon at a Gold and Green Ball where he was made her dance partner for the half-time entertainment program.  Dad immediately fell in love with her, but due to his clod-hopper shoes, it took mom a while to fall in love.  He became her dance partner and husband on May 31st, 1949 when they were married in the Salt Lake Temple.  Their marriage was blessed with seven children, two boys and five girls who they loved deeply.
Mom (Betty) liked watching the clouds float by on a summer day and loved to fish in her early years.  After marriage, she loved to play card games with her family and friends and loved to go camping with her family.  As the years passed, she would be found spending time with the small children and babies that kept showing up in the family including a great-great granddaughter. She loved those babies and loved playing with them and holding them.  She also had many great friends who kept in touch with her.
She loved cheering on the Jazz Basketball Team with Dad, being a coach, referee and fan while they sat in the Living Room. She was tender-hearted and a woman filled with compassion for everyone, constantly helping others, which why she chose a career being a Medical Assistant.  She had great wit and humor even in her last days.  A niece once called her a firecracker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (2003) daughter Valerie (1959), sister (Lillis Poll), brothers (Keith, Darrell, Leon [Barbara], Julian [Beverly], Delbert [Iola], Calvin [Maurine] & Ellis Forman) sisters-in-law (Iola [Arlo] Richins, Maretta [Fred] VanWeerd, Delila Moon, and great-grandson Clayton Moon
She is survived by children, Jerry [Sandy] Moon, Marsha [Forrest] Shaw, Ken [Teresa] Moon, Sheila [Upati] Pe’a, Sherri [Daryl] Pedler, Deanna [Kim] Hammon, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.  Brother-in-Law, Melvin [Carolyn] Moon, Sister-in-Law, Larene Moon
She will be greatly missed by all because she was GREATLY loved.
