On Thursday, July 23, 2015, our dear sweet mother, Betty Bell Kelson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and those of her husband and others that have gone before her.
Born February 18, 1930, in Auburn, Washington, to Clarence E. and Nettie Thornton Blessing. Married Henry Dell Kelson, March 17, 1951 in Enumclaw, Washington. Born to these wonderful and supportive parents were a daughter Susan and sons Steven and Craig.
Mom was raised and attended school in Washington, earning the prestigious title “Queen of the Gold and Green Ball” in 1950. After marrying Dad, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised their children. Mom was an avid bowler, often bowling on 3 leagues a week. She worked at the Kuong Jou Café in Sugarhouse for 18 years and had many loyal customers. Mom then worked and retired from Rocky Mountain Bank Note. She tenderly cared for children for several years. She loved shopping, going to church and attending bible study. Mom and Dad loved boating, camping and 4-wheeling with family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved cooking for them.
